Blessed with a wide range of technical expertise within the coalition that strive to ensure the success of the IGCP; this year again on 19th -22nd the IGCP TAG members met in Musanze, Rwanda, to among others validate the IGCP strategy 2018 – 2024, elaborate the IGCP advocacy and communications strategy and also update themselves on the launch of the Bwindi mountain gorilla census, release of the Virunga Massif census results and progress of the landscape planning actions. During the meeting, vibrant and informative plenary and group discussions were held that helped inform the draft strategy, for example the participants agreed to have some of the strategy objectives modified.
Speaking at the TAG the IGCP Director expressed gratitude to the coalition members for their consistent interest in IGCP and for the energy and time that they invest in advising and supporting the programme “This annual meeting continues to grow and evolve. It feels great working with a people who value what we do” Anna Behm Masozera said. The next TAG meeting is planned to be held in Uganda, with WWF as the hosting coalition member, tentatively February 19-21, 2019. Notes from the meeting are being compiled and will be shared by the Director to the TAG participants, and on request through the IGCP Focal Points – David Greer (WWF) and Chloe Hodgkinson (FFI).
