Henry Mutabaazi joins IGCP today 1st August 2017. Until recently, Henry worked as Climate Change Specialist for Chemonics International Inc. implementing USAID’s Feed the Future Uganda Enabling Environment for Agriculture Activity. Previously, Henry served at Nature Uganda as Project Manager for Echuya Forest Conservation and Livelihood Improvement Project and before then he was a District Forestry Officer for Kisoro District in Uganda. He has worked and lived in the Bwindi Mgahinga landscape for the last 19 years and has good understanding of the area.
Henry is passionate about participatory approaches to community engagement in nature conservation, sustainable management of protected areas and climate change considerations.
Henry holds a Masters of Science degree in Environmental Resource Management from University of Essex in UK, a Post Graduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management,a Bachelor of science degree in Forestry, and a Diploma in Education. He definitely brings vast experience to the IGCP.
