Mukiza group formerly called Kyaguliro B is found in Ruhija tourism sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and is led by Silverback Mukiza. The group was formed in May 2016 after the split of the main Kyaguliro group. Mukiza group is also dedicated for gorilla research by Max Planck Institute (MPI) for Evolutionary Anthropology. MPI researches mainly on the group’s behavioral ecology and conducts daily monitoring visits to the group. Just like Rukara group, Mukiza group is known for spending most of its time in the inner forest and very rarely gets close to the forest’s peripherals. The group is composed of 19 individuals including 1 Silverback, 8 Adult females, 1 Sub-adult female, 2 Juveniles and 7 infants.
