Habinyanja group is found in Buhoma tourism sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and is led by the dominant Silverback Makara. Habituation of Habinyanja group started in 1996 and in February 2002 the group split into two leading to the formation of Rushegura group. Habinyanja group initially comprised of more than 25 members before its fission. The group is currently composed of 16 individuals including; 1 Silverbacks, 4 Blackbacks, 4 Adult females, 4 Sub-adults, 2 Juveniles and 1 Infant. Habinyanja group is uniquely known for ranging further and colonizing new areas away from its originally known home range areas beyond Buhoma sector.
